I am running 2 computers both with win 2000 pro
I am connecting them through a hub and they share the
printer...

What I need to know is, is it possible to set it up so
that if

PC 1 with the printer attached is off
is there a way for Pc 2 still to be able to print??

- If the printer is attached directly to the machine that is turned off
(that is, not via the network), then no, the other machine will not be able
to print to it.
- If the printer supports a network connection, then you could simply
install it on both machines.
- Some inexpensive broadband routers include a parrallel port and can
function as a print server, installing one of these would allow each
machine to print to the printer independantly.
