All,
Does anyone know what causes a shared/network printer to show up
immediately under the domain or workgroup name in the form \
\computername\printer? I have some that show up this way, but with
others you have to click the computer name to find the printer. Some
details...
On my home (XP Home) workgroup, my shared printer shows up immediately
under our home workgroup, in the form \\computername\printer.
In a separate NT domain I have running, printers set up on an NT
domain controller also show up this way - immediately under the domain
name as \\computername\printer. However, if I share a printer from an
XP Pro machine on this NT domain, you actually have to browse through
the domain to find the computer name. The shared printers are of
course then listed.
Is there a way to get these XP-shared printers to show up immediately
under the domain name in the form \\computername\printer?
Thanks,
T.
