Network Printer Passwords

It makes too much sense to create a printer password as
you would with a shared drive. Why can't I do this? This
seems way to simplistic, yet the only post I can find is
in reference to Print Audit 4.0.

With Windows 2000, XP etc. you do not associate a "passwords" with printers,
nor with "shared drives". Rather, you grant permission to user accounts or
groups to use a shared printer or shared folder (or drive).

Open the printer's Properties dialog and select "Security". There you can
add users or groups and assign them the "Print" permission.
