Hi,
Have a two pc network, cabled together with an RJ45 crossover cable. HP
6100 is the network printer attached to an HP Pavillion. The other machine
is an old Dell. The HP had XP Home preinstalled at purchase; the Dell was
upgraded recently from Win98 to XP Home. Before that upgrade, both machines
were printing fine to the 6100. After the Dell upgrade, it could no longer
print to the 6100. Thought it needed reinstalled, but that failed when the
installation wizard identified a *.inf file not found. Then I used the HP
6100 installation CD to uninstall the HP software on the Dell (even though it
did not show up in the 'printer' window). Then I reinstalled the HP 6100
drivers on the Dell without incident. Thought all was well until a test
print from the Dell resulted in an ejected blank page at the 6100. Have
tried several different files (Excel, Word, Notepad) with same result: an
ejected blank page. The Pavillion continues to print without
incident-although have not tried the same 3 documents that failed from the
Dell. Does anyone have suggestions? TIA Ken Schmidt
