Is there a way that you can limit outside Workgroups and
Domains from viewing your computers in MyNetworkPlaces? Is
this viewable by dictating subnets in sites (subnet
boundaries)? Can someone explain please?

Not really. The browse list is netbios based and runs behind the scenes with
the domain pdc fsmo being the domain master browser that communicates with
segment master browsers on other subnets. Workgroups also elect a master
browser to build and distribute the browse list. You can hide computers from
the browse list, but not selectivley. Browsing however will not work accross
subnets without the help of wins or lmhosts files if that is of any help.
See the link below on how it works. --- Steve

That's what I thought. I guess the segments that are not
browsable do not have WINS entries. Darn NT domains, got
to get rid of them.

The move is toward Active Direcory and away from netbios name resolution,
but currently that still is not practicle for most. In a pure AD
envvironment with all W2K/W2003/XP Pro clients with no applications needing
NBT, the it can be disabled and administrators can control what a user sees
while browsing Active Directory resources by configuring object/container
security properties. --- Steve
