Can anyone help me on this.

I have three machines behind a Dlink router. They all connect to internet
but only intermittently with one another. Often they will communicate on
first try but
when I open 'My Network Places' the second time, I get a freeze and then
windows explorer crashes, closing all system windows.
Sometimes I can see other computers but cannot access folders.

This happens even after clean system re-install.

TIA
Geoff

I am having the same problems after I recently upgraded my
wireless network from 802.11b to the Microsoft 802.11g
wireless base station/router. I have two machines (both
running XP Pro. One is connected to the base station
directly by ethernet cable and the other connects to the
base station by means of a Microsoft 54g wireless PCI
adapter. I have the exact same problem as you...on the
first try, "my network places" opens up just fine, and I
am able to browse the shares from both computers, but when
I close the "My network places" window and reopen it, it
hangs and then explorer crashes. I have gotten around this
problem by connecting to the shares by UNC (Start->Run-
\\computer name) When I do this, I can browse the shares
without any problems and it also seems faster than "My
network places". Hope this helps. It certainly would be
nice if Micro$oft came out with a fix for this. After
trolling the internet, I have come across innumerable
folks with the same problem with "my network places" in
Windows XP.

Thanks but didn't work.
