Sometimes when I go to my workstations and browse My
Network Places in the desktop then I double click Entire
Network then Entire Contents sometime I can't see the two
Icons named "Microsoft Windows Network" & "Directory".
Sometimes I can see this icons and drill through the
computers in my network and even see thier shared files.
What is the possible cause of this problem. Why some times
I can access and sometimes not? By the way my workstation
LAN connection is Wireless and some are wired.Do it has
something to do with its protocol installed? Thanks in
advance....

That will vary based upon if your on XP or an earlier Windows version.

Prior to XP, you had network neighborhood. You clicked it and whalla you
had a "Workgroup" icon or something similar. You clicked that you have your
PCs

In XP, they [ms] introduced My Network Places. You clicked it and whalla
you had a history of network file shares you may of used (or ones Windows
discovered) but you don't get he list of all the PCs on the network. You
need to go to "Other Places" task on the left hand side of the Window and
click "Entire Network" ... tthhen.... "Microsoft Windows Network" ... then
"Workgroup"

It gets confusing for new XP users who are used to previous versions of
Networking. Microsoft is aware of this design issue and will take care of
it.
