I am trying to install a network printer on a wireless-enabled laptop.
Set up is this: Windows XP SP2 desktop wired to hub with shared printer
connected to LPT1. WAP connected to hub. Laptop with Belkin Wireless PCMCIA
card, W2K SP4 installed. Both machines have the latest Zone alarm installed.
Zone alarm on both machines have an allowed IP range of 192.168.1.1-50.
I am logged on both machines using the administrator account, with the same
password on each machine. There are shared folders on the desktop, and the
printer is shared. (I have another laptop using XP SP2, also wireless, where
the installation of the network printer went flawlessly).
On the W2K laptop I have enabled netbios over tcp/ip.
On going into My Network Places, the network is visible, the individual
machines on the network are visible, but when I try to access the Desktop
machine, I get the error as in the subject. Network path not found.
I can access the shared folder on the laptop from the desktop.
What have I missed? What am I not doing?
