I have a desktop and a laptop on my Home Network, 'ABC',
i also connect thru wireless router that other use at
the same time. they all have thier own networks
setup, 'X', 'Y', and 'Z' lets say. in my network places
i see all of the shared folders of all the computers. is
there a way i can password my network? how about just
password protecting my printer, which shows up on the
other computers automatically? thanks for any help.

I don't think you can password protect your printer.
But maybe you can limit access to it.

Limit Access to a Shared Printer in Windows 2000

Learn how to limit and control access to your shared printer, so that
only select individuals or groups can use it.

Now if you have windows xp pro you can disable Simple File Sharing
which gives you the option of setting more permissions. So if you want a
user to have a password because you don't want them to use the printer you
can "deny" them permission to print by putting the user in a group which has
its print permission denied.Everyman
group could have no permission to print while the users you want to be
able to print
which would be equivalent to letting them
know the password could be placed in a
new group that had printing permission.
I think this would work.
