Hi to all: I have 2 different questions. I asked them in Win2000 Security
community a couple of days ago, but noone is answering me, so I though I
would try this group.
I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post in 2 different groups, but I'm getting
no answer from the other one and is very critical I get this issue fixed.

1 ) - I have a message comming up when I open my email as follows.
MsMpEng.exe please insert disk into drive \Device\HardDisk1\DR1. I have also
another computer that has the same thing and it comes up at any moment.

Someone told me to unistall Windows defender as it's not supported in
Win2000.
So, I've tried to unistall Windows defender as suggested and I get the
following error message:
"Error 1324: The folder path 'My Pictures' contains an invalid character"

do you have any ideas how I can get rid of this message? It won't let me
unistall it.

thank you for your help.

2 ) - My second question is the following.
We had a computer at work set up on a network. the
name of the computer was Cris2k although everybody used it as a guest I
believe.

When you logged on, you logged on to the company server: bushc

Now that computer was given to one of our properties and Cris logged on as
himself, created a new user Admin and then removed something from the network
I think because the new user couldn't log on as it was saying that it wasn't
logged on to the bushc server.

he can log in but he doesn't have the administrator privileges and if he
tries to install something, it says that he can't for that reason. we tried
every password and any thing that we could think of, but with no success.
He cannot set up that computer to the new network either.

if you understand what I said and you have any ideas on how to figure this
out, can you please give me a hand????
I really appreciate your help.
thank you very much for your help!

You could simply delete the folder where the application runs from then
if your brave delete the registry keys as well.

thank you very much.
What about my second problem about the admin account?

if you have any ideas about that, I'd really appreciate it.
thank you again.

hello,
If the computer is already a member of the domain, before this problem
happened, you should use the LOCAL USERS and GROUPS snap-in on a
DOMAIN CONTROLLER in the BUSHC DOMAIN to connect to the computer "
Cris2k " and reset the ADMINISTRATOR'S PASSWD.

This is the simplest way to solve the problem.
You can try to log-on with user account " Administrator " & a blank
password.

Else make your question more detailed and informative.

Network solution provider.
