Hi,

I have a customer that uses a Firebrick to bond two adsl lines together.
However, the firebrick doesn't support fail over, so should one line fail
they loose 50% of packets.

I propose to install two NICs in a win2003 server and load balance the two
ADSL lines that way.

Having never attempted anything like this before can anyone advise on best
practise?

Thanks,
Joe

1. That is not Network Load Balancing (NLB). NLB is Clustering Servers
together, not Nics.

2. It won't work anyway, so forget it.

Using duel ADSL Lines requires a DSL Device capable of using two WAN Links.
Some of the "higher-end" Linksys Boxes do that,...I'm sure many other brands
do as well. Maybe even a more advance model of the FireBrick can do
that,...you'll have to investigate that yourself. The more features a
device has the more it $$$,..there are no free lunches.

In addition to Phil's advice - check out www.sonicwall.com - namely, the
enhanced OS. It can do failover & load balancing.
