network issue

I'am using windows xp home edition, not able to ping to
the loopback address as well as self ping .
As wellas not able to browse the network any solution for
this

The problem is almost certainly a misconfigured firewall program.
Un-install Norton Internet Security, ZoneAlarm, Sygate Personal
Firewall, etc, and try again.
