"network is down" ???

The windows event viewer gives the following error: " The
DS1410D service failed to start due to the following
error: the system cannot find the file specified"
Reinstalling win 2000 still does'nt help.
Any tips ?

is that ds1410d one of those security authorization things in the parallel
port or something else?? if you have one of those dongles then check the
driver installation for it.
