We have a small office network of 6 computers running
Windows XP/ME/98. Each computer has separate & direct
dial-up access to the Internet. We can access almost all
web sites without a problem. But we have run into a few
web sites that we cannot access while connected to our
network. When we disconnect the computer from the
network, we then can access the site. One of the sites
at issue is www.energycodes.gov.

The error we get is cannot find address or DNS error.
All of our Internet Explorer security settings are set to
the default, and we don't have a firewall.

What could be causing this problem when we are connected
to our workgroup network? Any help would be appreciated.

I suspect you probably use conflicting IP addresses between your internal
network and the site in question.. What IP range are you using for your
LAN?
