Hi,

I've had a working username and password set up on my
machine for a while. I wanted to add my machine to a new
domain/workgroup (LAN in my new house), and I went to My
Computer/Properties/Nework Name/Change and followed the
options to change the computer name and
domain/workgroup. When I did this, I got a warning
saying that I'd been disjoined from my old
domain/workgroup and to reboot. I rebooted, but now when
I get to the logon screen and I type my password, it says
my username and password are invalid. It's also worth
noting that before (with my old domain), I had a pull-
down menu option to pick a domain when I got to the logon
screen, but now I don't get that option.

Any suggestions?? I just want to unlock my machine and
change the settings back!

Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately I don't know
the administrator's password. I just found this website
after reading through a bunch of the items in this forum
so I will try it out. Thanks!

I'm sure that this was a lesson that you probably won't repeat <g>, but
always good to have a backup account to work with, and/or create a new local
admin account for youself before leaving a domain if you're not absolutely
sure the one you have works.
