have you got any firewalls anywhere that could be
interfering? also does the multiboot machine have the
same user accounts/passwords in both 98 and XP (i.e.have
you got access permissions in both O/S's that match the
computer you are connecting from)

It's always worth turning off all firewalls whilst
troubleshooting a network problem(including XP's built in
one). Make sure that all computers share the same
workgroup name (no matter which OS you boot into). try
creating an identical user account on every pc/OS (same
username and password)to avoid any permission issues. Try
connecting to the other pc from the "run" command
(\\computername\sharename)

Thx for the reply adrian916.
If i use the run command i can get into the PC no problum
at all ,i can even get into all 3 partitions.
I understand the reson you want me to shut off the
firewalls, but i cant see that being the problum.I dont
run the XP internal firewall only the 1 in my router. As
for the user names and PW's that never gave ma a problum
befor as well and yes thay are all in the same work group
all 3 pc's and all 3 partitions on the pc with multy OS's.
At least i can get into it now but i still would like tyo
get in from My Network Places.
Hope to here from you soon
thx again
