Hi

Both machines are Windows 2000 Professional SP4 with all security updates
installed

----------------------------

Until recently, I have had 2 computers connected via a crossover cat 5e
network cable with static IP's within a workgroup

Now, I have purchased a 3CRWDR100A-72 3Com ADSL Wireless 11g Firewall Router
& have it connected to one machine as the DCHP Server with the machine
dynamically picking up an IP address from the Router

I have a wireless card in the second machine now, which is configured &
works wirelessly with the Internet, which is fine.

My question is:

How do I make it so both computers are networked to each other over
wireless?

TIA

Jonny

Since both machines can reach the Internet via your router,
they are also connected to each other.

But I cannot access files from the other machines like I could when they
were directly networked. How do I do thay?

I am unable to give you an answer without further details.
Here is how you can collect them. On each PC, do this:
1. Click Start / Run / cmd {OK}
2. Type these commands verbatim:
net config workstation > c:\test.txt
net user %UserName% >> c:\test.txt
net user >> c:\test.txt
ipconfig /all >> c:\test.txt
net share >> c:\test.txt
notepad c:\test.txt

Now paste the contents of this file into your reply. Feel
free to neutralise any details you consider sensitive.

I sorted it now

Thanks for taking your time to help me

In the 3Com router was an optional domain name, which I entered. I did the
same for the 3 machines & allowed Norton Personal Firewall to let throuch
the IP range that the 3Com box was assigning & there you go

Job done

Thanks again everyone!!
