Network half working Can Only Ping addresses

Basically I can ping the entire universe. However, I
cannot resolve names or use IE. In fact if I specify the
ip address in IE, it still fails.

I wonder if some service is not running.

Going mad slowly.

Then you might wish to post your clients "DNS settings" by listing
IPConfig /all

The DNS server it uses must be appropriate and available. If you
don't have a DNS server of your own then you point the client to
your ISP's DNS server.
 
Hmmmm. I can ping the dns servers. ipconfig/all looks
good. Still, if I use IE and specify (192.168.1.1) the
linksys router which is my gateway it still fails.

What do you mean "ipconfig looks good"?

How can you expect help if you tell us you have no problems????

This doesn't even appear to be the problem you originally posted
(DNS failed but IP worked.)
