First of all, i've tried everything i could think of working on my
friend's home network and can't get it to work... Got 3 xp home
machines, 2 desktops and a asus laptop, connected through cabling,
using a dlink d-604 router all in the same room. Shaw cable connected
through the router. The network was working a week ago and now
nothing. The weird thing is that acessing the router shows all 3
machines, asigns all of them their own addresses, no problem there,
they all can get to the net and work well. Trying to get them to see
each other no chance! I've disabled all software firewalls, added
netbeui to all 3 of them, disabled tcp/ip on file & print sharing
using only netbeui as the protocol after leaving tcp/ip on first.
Going the command line and trying to ping each machine only randomly
works, yet again the router itself shows all machines at all times.
They all are on the same workgroup and just won't see each other at
all. Any ideas? I have gone to Microsoft's own help site and tried
everything there....
