I want to setup a game on my network. I have 1 cd and each user is required to have one. Not good, anyway to configure my computer so that I can operate the game without the cd?

Not if the software company which produced the game requires SafeDisk or
some other encryption to prevent what you're trying to do.

Hate to break it to you purists. But...... Alcohol 120% + Blind Write BWA
will copy ANY CD, perfectly. Piracy sucks, but there will never NOT be a
way around it.

I won't argue piracy issues here. The question received the correct answer,
there is no way to configure Windows XP to get around the issue.

Some games (eg Age of Mythology, Diablo, Age of Empires Series are the only ones I can think of offhand) actually allow you up to a limited number of computers to share 1 CD for a LAN game. Usually it's not many - 4 i think? Start the game with the CD in, once your in, eject and give to the next person, etc. Legally only 1 user is allowed to use the software in either single player or online play tho. Hell, read the readme/EULA for whatever game you are using and see what it says.
