My wife's laptop recently acquired a new hard disk, which
may be involved here. I have set up a new network, and it
is working for connection to the Internet, printing, etc.,
and the laptop can open files on my desktop. But my
desktop sees no shared files from the laptop, even though
many of them have been set up for file sharing. I just
completed renaming the laptop and recreating the network,
but to no avail. Any suggestions?

Richard-

I need a little more information - What OS does the
laptop have and what OS does the Desktop have? If you
were to open up "Network Places" would you be able to see
the laptop? And what protocal are you using for your
network?

Thank you. Both have Windows XP. Yes, I can see the
icons for both compuiters in "Network Places." I'm using
MS Home protocol.
