I don't know what is causing this but its really starting to tick me off.
Recently I had some problems with my network that I was able to trace to an old installation of Zone alarm.
This time it seems that a virus has made it so that no network functionality can be on my system. Every time I try to reinstall or update my driver for my NIC it comes back with a corrupted or missing driver error. It will install the driver but when it try's to activate the NIC I get the error message.
I am running XP Pro on a 3.0 p4 with 1024 DDR.
