I have a new notebook with Windows XP. Our company network drive is mapped
as F: and I also have Z: mapped as the network drive I use at my house. I
had the same with my old notebook that has Windows 2000 on it. Now when I
get to work, the F: drive is always crossed out and I have to double-click
it to activate it. I did not have to do this with my old system. Is this due
to XP and if so, is there something I can change to fix it?

This is by design: Windows XP will lose the network drives when you
restart it. You have to re-activate them by clicking the drive.
