I can't seem to figure out how to move from my office
network to my home network. My office network has me in
a domain. My home network is a workgroup. The home
network (which is 100 LAN) workgroup will not recognize
my business portable. If I change the portable computer
domain to the home workgroup, then it sees my portable
and everything works great. But when I return to work I
can't log back into the corporate network. I have to
call IT and have the network administrator add me back to
the domain. There must be a way to move back and forth
between two networks. As far as I can tell, there is no
way to make the home network workgroup a domain. I'm
only allowed to create workgroups. Both my home PCs and
my business portable are running Win XP Pro.
How can I get the home workgroup to recognize the pc?
Isn't there something that allows me to change the PC
configurations to switch between the home config and the
work config without requiring me to reauthenticate to the
work domain (which requires the IT people to re-add me to
the domain or this process fails)?
