Hello,
I am about to venture into setting up a wireless network
using a Dell desktop with Windows XP and a laptop with
Windows XP. Currently, I have a DSL connection being
used solely by the laptop using a Cat 5 cable. However,
I recently purchased a Linksys wireless DSL router along
with a wireless card for my laptop. The scenario that I
would like to setup is to have my desktop be directly
connected to the DSL connection and then use the
router/access point to allow my laptop to share the
Internet connection. Additionally, I just want to setup
a network to allow both units to share files and a
printer connection. I have very little knowledge of
networking on any level. I wanted to know if anyone
could offer some advice or direction towards an article
or link that describes the setup of a home network and
Internet connection sharing at the same time. Thank you
in adance for any response.
