I have a similar problem to MISSY. I could access my W2K Pro PC and had done
regular backups across the network which worked fine. Now for some reason I
cannot access either PC from the other and cannot turn on Network Discovery
which defaults to 'Custom', whatever I try. I can ping either PC from the
other usung the CMD prompt but cannot seem to find a way of either PC
recognising the other! Any ideas?

You need to download and run Link Layer Toplogy Discovery (LLTD) from the
Microsoft website on all your non vista machines for network discovery to see
other machines. The relevant URL is as follows:

go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=70582

This link appears to relate to Win XP OS I am trying to network to a PC with
2000 pro. OS! Apart from anything else it was working fine until a few days
ago! What might of changed? An automatic Windows Vista update?
