Network credentials not caching for remote users

When we deploy a laptop to a user and they try to logon using cached domain
credentials, it takes 2-3 hours for the OS to timeout and reply that the
domain was not available. Users are then instructed by my IT group to logon
to the system locally. I know this isn't right.

I thought domain accounts cached locally so that users could logon with
their usual account, no?

Thanks,
JM

hi,
instruct the laptop users to logon without network cable plug when thay are
off site. and after a succesful login to plug the cable.

Dragos,

I know what you're saying, but I'm almost certain that they are not
connecting the network cable prior to boot.

What diagnostic steps can I take to observe the boot process on the client
machine?

JM
