Hello obaa,
I went through this recently with WIN2K. I solved the
problem by first ensuring the subject work station was
identified accordingly; however, if your using a actual
cable network, check the patch cable configuration -
sometimes this is the culprit because there are two
primary type configurations: A & B. Make sure all
connectivity configurations are the same throughout.
Be sure you are in the administrator screen if you loaded
WIN2K in all stations.
From the subject workstation signed on as administrator,
go to Control Panel, System, and from Network Tab check
the ID configuration. You can't hurt anything using the
Wizard from the NetWork button. Run the Wizard, answer
the questions that best describe your network, then go
back to the desk top. Open "My Network Places" default
icon, (usually loaded on the desk top upon install) and
click open "Computers Near Me". You should see all the
computers tied into the network and in each computer as
you open them from the icon you can see all the shared
system and file items as well.
From the "My Network Places", check all the stations from
each station - it will start to make sense as you see the
results.
Let me know if this worked.
