Network connections empty?

I am trying to use connect my laptop(HP pavillion ze 5244) to the wireless
network at school. To do that I need to change the settings on my wireless
connection in the folder network connections. This folder is empty. Used to
contain "local connection" and "wireless connection". Have built-in network
adapters. Have checked that they are enabled. When I try to press the button
with the wireless symbol nothing happens. It is supposed to show a blue light.
Any ideas?

Hi,

Try this: Click start/run, type:

control netsetup.cpl

Then click ok, this should open the networking wizard.

Hi.

Thanks for the suggestion. Tried that. Nothing happened. The networking
wizard did not start. No error message either. Still open for suggestions...

Hi,

What if you run netsetup.exe?
