When I try to add a "Create a New Connection" under
Network Connections, nothing happens when I click on the
Next button in the NETWORK CONNECTION TYPE dialog box
after I have selected any of the radio buttons.

The computer is only a couple of weeks old and I believe
that I updated all of the service packs for XP
Professional.

Which connection type are you choosing?
If this is a brand new computer, have you called the
manufacturer for support?

Yes, I am waiting for an answer from them but I thought I
would try to fix it myself. I have two computers
purchased at the same time and the other one doesn't have
this problem. Of course, they are slightly different
since they have slightly different applicatins loaded and
may have different upgrades. Can you point me anywhere
to look to fix this?

I am also trying to get a VPN tunnel established between
these two computers and two other computers at a home
office. I am using a NETGEAR VPN Router (FVS318) and I
thought I had an active tunnel on Friday but now it is
down. This was why I was trying to create a new
connection in VPN. I did create one on the other
computer (also XP Pro) but it didn't seem to connect to
the home office Win2k computers.

BTW, selecting any of the radio buttons on the Network
Connection Type dialog box gives the same result -
NOTHING when I click on the NEXT button.

I re-installed XP Pro and have gotten the Network
Connection Wizard to finally work but I still cannot
connect to the home office. I can see it via a remote
management but it won't connect.

You may need to make a new post about the VPN issue.
Sorry but I do not know any answers about that issue.
A new post might catch the eye of one of the MVP's on this
news group.
