Hi Al,
The reason for the difference is that the Win98 machine will use NetBIOS to connect to the 5th
machine and the 2000 machines will try DNS first several times. So I would make sure on the
2000 machines you have NetBIOS helper service running in services, that you have NetBIOS
over TCP/IP enabled under the WINS tab in the porperties of the network adapter. You may
also need to put an entry in the HOSTS file for the 2000 machines for the name of the 5th
machine so they will go directly to it.
