My system is running fine, but the icon that shows the two flashing computor
screens in the system tray is missing, likewise, the icon is also missing out
of the network connections folder, I have tried different things from the
windows knowledge base without any luck, any ideas andybody?

I have exactly the same problem. It means that I can't disconnect my
broadband unless I reboot the system. Hope someone can help us.

Problem now in thehands of Microsoft tec support, they did send me a
"hotfix", which did not work, it`s back ith them now.

Ray: what was the hotfix? It's a really annoying problem, as I'm due to go
up to 2mbs service, but can't see details.

Drop me a line please when you hear from them.

Thank you.

Hi,

The so called "hotfix" only works if you don`t have SP2 installed, they have
to sent it to you and it is password protected, a big deal or what!!!!!!,
they now have asked me to do a system restore + use the windows repair
console, I could have though of that for myself, you would have excepted
something more from Microsoft, but their again, Windows never crashes, ho, ho

Ok, I had the same problem after I use the register cleaner. This is how I fixed it. Here is the link. Do Method 2. It wouldn't hurt to start with one tho. Be careful and take your time and read every step twice if you are not experienced...you will have to type into command prompt but all will be told to you step by step.

Now I have to find how to put the icons in the task bar. Hope this helps.

ok, here is how to put the icon back in your taskbar. Click on start..click on settings, click on control panel, double click on network connections....right click on local area connections, scroll down to properties.....check the box that says ..."show icon in notification area.....
