When logging on as "Guest", I can't connect to my DSL line
to bring up IE. As a "Guest" I can't set the network
settings. What do I do? Everything works fine
as "Administrator", but logging off as "AdMin" and on
as "Guest" breaks the connection.
Please help

This is by design. A guest account can only go online if the system is
already online when an individual access the guest account.

Thank you Michael. I thought so, but how do I access the guest account if I make the connection to the network as an administrator? When I logoff as Admin, and logon as Guest, the connection breaks. I'm trying to setup a machine in a library such that any "guest" can get to the internet, and also run a couple of programs.
Thanks in advance for any reply.

If it's a broadband connection, it should still be active. If it's a
dial-up I'm not sure how it can be achieved. I won't say it can't, I'm just
not sure how unless you are able to work with your dial-up connection
settings to maintain an active connection until you physically disconnect.
This might vary based on ISP software or if you have a native connection (no
ISP software, just a connection created in XP).

Thanks once again. To close the loop, it is broadband, but for it or dial up, the solution was in the connection settings. I had specified when connecting "me" instead of "anyone", so it disconnected when I switched users. I appreciate your help.

Thinks for letting me know. I sort of drew a blank when I was writing my
response and you've just mentioned what I was trying to remember at the
time.:-) By you're right, that's what you're supposed to do, select
"Anyone" in connection settings.
