Network Computers Can't Access Each Other

I run XP Pro on a 2 computer wireless network. The router is a D-Link
DI-614+. The network was working fine but for some reason the client became
unable to access the shared printer. I couldn't figure out why and tried
setting up the network again using the network wizzard. The wizzard said
that the network was successfully set up on both computers. Now, however,
neither computer can access the other. If I clink the workgroup computers
link on the client, only the client shows up under that network name. If I
click the same link on the server, I get an error message saying that the
network is not accessible and that I might not have permission.

I see that some people are having similar problems but have not run across a
solution yet. Does anyone have any ideas?
Any assistance would be appreciated.

JM,

please have a look at http://www.michna.com/kb/WxNetwork.htm.

Here's something you might want to try. Instead of setting up the network to
include a modem, set up the small office network, discounting the modem.
In my case it worked, but I did have a Windows re-install on one of the
puters in the interim, but I figure it might be worth a shot.
I had the same problem as you, and it hung in for a year or so, b4 it got
resolved this past weekend.
Good Luck

John/Hans:

Thanks for your assistance. I found out that the problem was with the
firewall (Norton Internet Security). I originally set it up to permit the
network to be placed in the "Trusted Zone". For some reason, when I checked
to see whether the network was still listed there, I found that it was gone.
Can't explain why, but when I set it up again everything worked fine.

Thanks again.
