Trying to install W2K via network. Read KB article
252448. Ran the program to create Network Client install
disks. I get stuck in the first dialog box where it ask
for "Share Network Client Installation Files." I've tried
every conceivable combination to connect to the
installation files. I keep getting the error message "The
path specified does not contain the network client
installation files. Verify that the path is correct, then
retry the operation."
I don't know which files it's trying to find. I copied
the I386 folder files for W2K from an MSDN CD and set the
share as W2000P on the XP computer named Intel24 shared
on the network. I have no trouble opening the folder in
W2K from another computer where I am running NCADMIN. So
it should connect.
I've tried "Use Exiting Shared Directory" and entered
INTEL24 for the server and W2000P for the share. I've
tried the other three options, but I don't understand
them well and guessed at entries which didn't work. And
of course the Help is no help.
What concept am I missing here that prevents me from
connecting?
