I have a windows 2000 pc that can connect to one part of
the network but as soon as i plug into a different
network it just keeps restarting the computer. This is
the only pc that this happens to. I have tried switching
nics, drivers and settings and still nothing.
Can anyone help.

HP VECTRA
400mhz
256 ram
intel 10/100 nic

Thanks in advance

Hi there,

this is an odd behavior, but ry a different patch cable and connect the PC to a different port on the switch to see if the helps.
Contact PC manufacturer for additional support.

Last time I saw this it was due to a bad slot in the motherboard,..and it
wasn't even the one that had the NIC in it.

I figured out the problem with the restart.......it was
the novell client(4.9 sp1) i was using along with the
service pack 4 for windows.......they must have been
conflicting cause once i uninstalled the service pack 4
and rebooted it connected to the network and stayed
running........
