My network card quit working about two weeks ago. I moved
the computer to another room and plugged it in and it
worked fine, when I returned to the original room and
plugged it in again, it worked fine. I replaced the
network cable to be sure there wasn't a short in the cable.

Today the network card again quit working. I moved the
card to a new port, nothing. Plugged it in a different
room works fine. Plugged back in original room, works
fine. All connections appear to be secure, card is
seated well in the port, I cant think of anything else to
try. Any ideas?????????

Thanks
Emily

Maybe it's related to your smoking monitor . . .

On a more serious note: Network adapters are so cheap
these days that it's not worth your time mucking around
with them. Throw it out and buy a new one!

yeah, but if im having this problem once a month, that
gets a bit rediculous....

The Network card has been replaced twice already this year.

The smoking monitor is a different computer.... hahaha
