Is it possible for a wireless network card to go bad?

All of a sudden one of the wireless machines lost
connection. When you open the Network connection, I see
a "Wireless Connection Unavailable" message. I also see a
Local Area Network connection unplugged message, and see
two icons in the taskbar with red X. This network has
worked in the past for a good two months.

It appeared to be slow, Interent Applications also
appeared to be slow the day before. It seemed I have no
connection and cannot communicate over a network. Other
machines are just fine and cannot see the computer that
is having trouble.

yellowpike,

This machine is wireless *not* wired. In addition, I did have another network card
in the machine which was for wired. I plugged the network cable to and from the
router and machine and it worked.

What might have been the problem with the wireless card?

You might also check for sources of electrical interference. Some new
appliance perhaps.

Sorry about that Bud.
Gettin' confused in my old age.
Yes the card might bad. I had to return a d-link dwl-650+ a while back that
kept dropping the connection/crashing laptop.
Have you updated any drivers for the wireless card lately? MS had one in XP
update recently that caused really slow browsing so I rolled back the
drivers (problem solved). See *paste* below
What kind of card/AP are you using? Do you use WZC or other config utility?

*Recently installed "Digitally Signed" driver from Windows Update to my
D-Link DWL-650+ wireless card. Driver Release date September 08 2003.
Browser and Home Network speed drastically reduced.
Used "Driver Rollback" feature in Device Manager to re-install Driver
version 3.0.23.4 driver date 6/5/2003 and all is well.*
