HELP!!! I have a LAN using a broadband router and my
connection to my laptop has stopped working. My connection
to the router is working, but now my original network card
is not. It keeps telling me that my nework cable is
disconnected! I'm on a wireless card and that works. I
just can't connect to my email or browser. What do I do?

: check your pc for viruses.

Is this the fix for everything? (O:=

Connection to your laptop from where, the router? If so, say so. What does
"stopped working" mean? What do you SEE?

: My connection
: to the router is working,

WHAT connection to the router? Your xDSL/Cable connection to the router is
active? Is that what you mean?

: but now my original network card
: is not.

Original network card where? laptop? Is this a redundant statement from
above or something else?

: It keeps telling me that my nework cable is
: disconnected!

Is it?

: I'm on a wireless card and that works.

How can it be disconnected and work? Do you have a built in NIC and also a
wireless NIC but you're showing the internal [wired] NIC in your system tray
that says you're disconnected? Well, if you dont' have a cable connected to
it to a hub, then you ARE disconnected.

: I
: just can't connect to my email or browser. What do I do?

I have no idea. This is not enough information. What errors do you get
regarding email, browsing, etc.?
