Installed Antispyware along with Norton Internet Security
a couple of weeks ago. My HP Pavillion zd7140 came up out
of hybernation with above error message. Have reinstalled
RealTek ethernet driver, Windows XP repair, TCP/IP configs
& driver. No success. Is it possible that one of the
updates to the security programs have caused the problem?

All it's telling you is that your LAN connection is
unplugged. If you're not on a network, this isn't a
problem. If the connection from your modem is going into
a USB port, simply unplug it and plug in an ethernet
cable. You may have to reconfigure the connection, but
your internet provider's tech support should be able to
help you.

Hi there:

I also used to get a wacky pop-up ballon at home from my
XP task bar that I had a "network cable unplugged."
Since I don't have a network it indeed is just a
nuisance. Here's how to end it:

Start ---> Control Panel---> then Open Network
Connections ---> Right click the LAN or Local area
connection Choose Properties---> General Tab and uncheck
both boxes at the bottom.

Hope this helps,
