I hve a subnet on our network that has a non-functioning master browser. So
the browse list from that subnet is not getting to our domain master
browser. How can I force another machine to be the master browser for the
problem subnet? I've tried using BROWSTAT ELECT, but the same PC becomes
the master browser each time

Any insight is greatly appreciated.

We have a Windows 2000 Active Directory domain. Almost all PCs are W2k or
XP. Multiple subnets on the network. I really just need to know how I can
stop a particular PC from providing the browse list for a network segment
and change to a different master for that subnet.

Temporarily, "Browstat TIC" should do what you want.

In the long term, you should either prevent the browser service from
running on this machine or set the Registry value:
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Browser\Parameters\MaintainServerList
to "No".
