There a course i do but they have the internet block with alot of sites like youtube, faceboo, etc.

Some lad i was speaking to said you can get around this in the bios.

I was thinking this is,nt the case and it,s done thought there end.

True or false?

The bios is very basic software, there is no way you can filter stuff via it

the usual method is for all the computers to connect to the net via a proxy server

If there's a block on certain sites should you really be trying to get round them?

You'll simply be abusing the system.

Youtube has blocked lots of music videos to UK folk because UK record companies refuse to pay Youtube's fees, which is fair enough, really, cos Youtube got rich from other people's copyrighted work.

Make of that what you will, lots of ambiguity and grey areas there for sure :)

False..And if you're doing a course at a college, then they have obviously put a block on for a reason.

Nivrip couldn't have put it any better..

I also found this while searching the net for a way around blocked sites, which I think is pretty relevant..

But you really need to understand why your company or school has blocked it. Violation of the rules by bypassing the security and safety system can get you terminated from your job or expelled from school. Make sure you understand the consequences of your actions.
