I'm looking to buy a NAS drive and was wondering if anyone had
experience using the Plextor PX-EH16L or similar?

Thanks in anticipation

There are charts here:

If you buy a DIY, and put your own drive in it, it could be
cheaper.

Also, I'm very suspicious about how products cool drives
these days. I like to see a fan in an enclosure, plus sufficient
ventilation area, so the fan can do its work. It seems the
trend, is to sealed boxes, that rely on conduction cooling.
If you plan on buying a large drive (>200GB), some of
those get warmer than the small ones, and a conduction
or convection cooled solution might not be really good
for longevity.

If you look on a site like Newegg, the customer reviews
there can give an early warning about bad design ideas.
