I have just added a new harddrive to my PC and decided
to install XP. Since I did this my network adapter will
work for a while and then just quit. I have a Netgear
FA311 adapter and I'm connected to the internet thru a
Netgear RP114 router and Motorola Surf calbe modem. The
other PC in the house running Win98SE have no problem.
Sometimes I have to reboot to get it going other times I
have to unistall and re-install my network adapter. It is
getting very upsetting to have to keep doing this all
night. Any hints to what may be going on?

I would try to install the new driver for xp.

You might have a look at the power management on the
adapter. If it is enabled, disable. Might work in
conjunction with the new driver.
