Hello,
I currently have a network consisting of 2 pc's, one
running winxp the other 2000. We're quite happily using
the tcp/ip protocol. Now I wish to connect a pc running
win98 to the network using the tcp/ip protocol, however
I'm having problems. I install the network card, and the
tcp/ip protocol however the 98 machine does not connect
to the network. On the 98 machine, clicking on 'entire
network' gives a message saying the the network is not
accessible.

I have had success using ipx/spx however I need to use
tcp/ip for the programs I run. Is there anything extra I
have to install on the 98 machine to make it work? Any
comments are welcome. thanks

make sure the win98 pc and the win2k pc have an account name
and password that is the same

Have you checked IP address on 98 machine that is assigned automatically or manually?
If your network does not assign automatically, you have to assign IP address manually in same range
as XP and w2k.
I have a network of win98, win95, win2000 and winXP PCs and they are fine.
