Anyone know why I always see this from port 1027?

If I block port 1027 I lose internet access.

This connection shows on bootup BEFORE I open any programs.

Any comments as I have searched and can't find an answer.

Thanks

Hi Mark,

Try using this tool:
http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/source/tcpview.shtml

to see which service is using this port. That might explain why you are
connected to VeriSgin.

One possible explanation would be to (I am really guessing here)! Microsoft
System files are signed. This makes it really hard for a virus to change
system file because signature would fail and system would restore original
file.
Since PKI is involved Trusted Roots have to be checked all the way up to
Root CA. This could be Verisign CA and Windows is checking if everything is
OK... (Root CA still valid, revocation lists ...)...

Beside this, port 1027 has been associated with quite a few things as I
could see. One of them was also ICQ...

I hope this helps you out...
