i get an entry like the following with "netstat -o"

TCP localhost:1691 <addr>:microsoft-ds ESTABLISHED 4

When i looked up the PID (4), it came up with the System process.

I'm new to this. Could anyone tell me what that entry means ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

microsoft-ds is TCP port 445. You can use "netstat - ano" to resolve to
actual port numbers.

microsoft-ds ? As u can tell, I'm quite ignorant about this. can

ds mean directory services, this usually means you are connected to your
domain controller.
