Hi,

I'm so disappointed to see perfectly good popup windows (some created
with Jimco Spawn and some by a dedicated coder) do not render as
popups in Netscape 8 -- even when I made sure all popup blockers are
disabled and javascript is enabled in the browser. I also set the site
as a trusted site in the NS browser.

But instead of a nice popup like IE renders, the window comes up full
screen and the "Back" button is disabled, making it very hard to find
your way back to the page you started on.

Here's an example. Click the image and you'll see:
http://healthiswealthfoods.com/products/4cheese-pizza.htm

A small popup with a larger image in IE. A disaster in NS8.

Somebody please help... Thanks :-)

I thought most popup blocks don't block the "onclick" popups anyway...only
(mostly) "onLoad".
since onclick is user initiated...onload, you have no choice.

Check your firewall is not blocking them. Also, some antispam tools may
block them (Norton Antispam for instance).

In Netscape 8, try
Tools->Options click Site Controls
Uncheck boxes: "Open requested pop-ups in new tab"
When a pop-up is opened in a new tab, it will fill the browser
viewport, just like a new page. I do not know if unchecking this box
will prohibit pop-ups totally, or convert them to the proper pop-up
window.

Thanks, but that didn't help. They still came up full screen. I don't
have any firewall or spam settings that would block these popup
windows, either. They work fine in IE :-(
