using XP Pro with a Linksys Router (BEFSR81) my network
connection ALWAYS sets itself up to become a gateway,
even when I set the network connection not to do that. I
am hosting a site off this machine.

How can I avoid the XP machine from setting itself up as
a gateway?

Thanks

What tells you that the XP machine is setting itself up as a gateway?

If you're referring to an Internet Gateway icon in the Network
Connections folder, it represents your router, not your computer.
That icon lets you monitor and control the router's operation.

OK, great, so now I know what that represents

But there is another problem. I ave a webiste that is
hosted behind a Linksys BERSF81 Router. The problem is
that if there any intactivity on the website for about 10
mins, then noone can access the site anymore becuase it
times out.

The machine the site is hosted has all power management
turned off, including the power management of the card.

Do you have any ideas why it would time out

Thanks
