I did a "repair" of Windows XP Pro and then downloaded SP3. I then noticed
my CPU's at 100% every 15 to 30 seconds for about 4 seconds.
I downloaded Process Explorer and found that it was occuring within
svchost.exe. I then went to Services and began stopping/pausing the Services
while watching the effect on the CPU usage. When I stopped Network
Connections (Netman, c:windows/system32/netman.dll), it stopped the CPU usage
spikes.
I'm worried about what this will affect by stopping this service. I do use a
wireless network when at home and file and print share. Will this be affected?
Can someone recommend a better fix or explain why this was causing CPU spikes?
Thank you!
